your maintenance programme.
We carry out residential smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarm work as part of ongoing electrical servicing programmes. Where appropriate, we coordinate alarm work with annual maintenance and five-yearly EICR visits, helping you organise access and follow-up across your properties.
Alarm testing and servicing have their own requirements. An EICR does not replace them, and combining visits does not replace any more frequent checks the system needs.

LD1, LD2 and LD3.
What do they describe?
These categories describe the extent of fire detection within a home; they do not describe carbon monoxide alarm coverage. The system grade describes its equipment and power arrangements. They are different parts of the specification.
- LD1
- Detection throughout the home, apart from specified exceptions such as bathrooms and toilets.
- LD2
- Detection along escape routes and in specified rooms or areas presenting a higher fire risk.
- LD3
- Detection along escape routes.
The appropriate category and grade depend on the property and its requirements. Share your specification, existing records and any relevant fire risk assessment so we can discuss the work required.

These systems need a different brief from alarms within individual homes. Existing specifications, service records and the building’s fire strategy or fire risk assessment help establish the requirements.
